KILT
Cross-stitch glove illustration

Kilt is a unique cross-stitch-inspired typeface that blends the warmth of traditional craft with the precision of digital design.

What sets Kilt apart is its variable stitch thickness, allowing for flexibility in weight. It could be decorative, or practical — have some fun. The typeface includes a full set of all caps lowercase, numbers, and punctuation.

The project was born out of a deep obsession with tartan where the intricately constructed weaves gave initial inspiration for the grid-based design.

One cross stitch with a varying weight. Small and it reads like a delicate sampler hanging in your nan's kitchen. Big and chunky and suddenly it's a whole different energy. Same shape, same logic, just one slider between them.

Every curve in the stitch is built from a simple rounded cross. Just imperfect enough and it feels like something someone actually stitched. :)
